  • Siliciclastic sedimentatary processes, reconstruction of ancient depositional environments (turbidite systems, delta, tide- and wave-dominated coastal systems, alluvial systems, climate and tectonic controls on sedimentation
  •  Methods: facies analysis of outcrops and cores, seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, basin analysis.
  • Deep time study areas: Quaternary fluvial architecture, Great Plain Plain; Pannonian Basin; Late Neogene Lake Pannon; Intra-Carpathian Palaeogene basins; Cretaceous of Gerecse Hills; Fluvial architecture in the Permo-Triassic of the Karoo, South Africa
